  1. Start with a similar garment

    Compare a pullover, zip-up or crewneck with something you wear in the same way. Consider how much room you want for a layer underneath.

  2. Measure it flat

    Lay the garment flat and measure across the chest. Compare body and sleeve length from the same starting points shown on the listing’s chart.

  3. Match the measurement type

    Check whether the chart gives flat chest width or full chest circumference, and whether it uses centimeters or inches. Compare the same measurement in the same units.

  4. Check the selected color and details

    Review close-ups of the cuffs, hem, print or embroidery when available. Use photos that show the version you want to order.

Compare hoodie coverage with the hood up

A flat product photo shows little about how far the hood comes forward. Ask for a side photo with the hood up to see where the front edge sits.

If you wear a cap under your hood, compare the space around the brim with a hoodie you already like. Ask whether the hood opening adjusts and how the drawcord is secured.

How can I tell what the inside of a hoodie feels like?

Ask for a close photo of the inside of the body and hood. Visible loops and a fuzzy brushed surface show different textures. A photo of the outside tells you little about how the inside will feel.

What should I ask about shrinkage?

Request a photo of the care label and ask whether the garment was preshrunk. If your preferred fit leaves little room, check the seller’s guidance for washing and drying before choosing a size.

How can I check the zipper on a zip-up hoodie?

Ask for a photo of the hoodie zipped all the way up and a short video of the slider moving. Check the bottom where the zipper joins, and look for gaps or uneven teeth.
